Imperial Federation League
Formed in Canada at a meeting in Montreal,
in May, 1885. A conference to the same end had been held in London, in
July, 1884. The league in Canada changed its name, in 1896, to the
British Empire League in Canada, at the suggestion of Sir Charles
Tupper. See Denison.
